Welcome and thank you for your interest in Safe Haven Education Nutrition Association of Haiti. In every community, boys and girls are left to find their own recreation and companionship in the streets. An increasing number of children are at home with no food, no adult care, or supervision. Every day more than 50% of children in Haiti go to bed hungry because the people they depend on the most are unable to care for them. Young people need to know that someone cares about them. S.H.E.N.A Haiti offers that and more to the youth of Les Cayes, Haiti. The club programs and services promote and enhance the development of boys and girls by instilling a sense of competence, usefulness, belonging and influence. The club is a safe place to learn and grow – all while having fun. S.H.E.N.A Haiti Club is a place – an actual neighborhood-based building – designed solely for youth programs and activities.
The Club is open every day, during the long days of summer when school is not in session and on various weekends, when kids have free time and need positive, productive outlets. The club offers healthy meals to its members throughout the year.
S.H.E.N.A Haiti Club reaches out to youths and families who cannot afford a decent meal after school, or may lack access to, other community programs. No child/family is ever turned away.
More importantly, S.H.E.N.A Haiti Club shows young people that someone loves them and cares about them and has a real interest in their moral and physical development.
